Katie Garman is an epidemiologist at the Tennessee Department of Health. She received a B.S. in Applied Psychology from Ithaca College and a M.P.H in Behavioral Sciences from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She has been an epidemiologist for the Tennessee Department of Health for over 10 years and is currently assigned to the Department’s FoodNet and FoodCORE programs. Katie’s research and public health interests include outbreak response; foodhandler’s role in foodborne outbreaks; knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding food recalls; and developing foodborne surveillance and outbreak training programs for local health department staff.
