Chris Smith received a B.S. in Biology at North Georgia College and State University in 2001. He now works at the Center for Food Safety at the University of Georgia, where he researches the impact of foodborne pathogens, including Salmonella and norovirus, on the farm in places such as compost, soil, and gloves. He also does work investigating various sanitizers that could prevent these pathogens from getting to our kitchen tables. He is currently associated with the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB) and Research Scientists/Laboratory Professionals group.
