Peng Tian has been a research virologist in the Produce Safety and Microbiology Research Unit at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) since 2002. Dr. Tian received a medical degree from Capital Medical University, Beijing, China and a Ph.D. from Dept. Molecular Virology, Baylor College of Medicine.
Prior to working with the USDA, Dr. Tian worked on Rotavirus vaccine development in Wyeth. His current research interests include food safety and Norovirus; and high-throughput methods for detection and characterization of Norovirus in food and environmental samples.
