Angela M. Fraser, PhD
Associate Professor/Food Safety Specialist

Dr. Fraser is an Associate Professor/Food Safety Specialist in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University. Dr. Fraser has worked in the area of food safety education since 1987, having held government, teaching, and extension positions. She received her B.S. in Dietetics in 1984, an M.S. in Institutional Administration in 1987, and a Ph.D. in Food Science in 1995. All of her degrees were earned at Michigan State University.
Before coming to Clemson University, she worked as an Associate Professor/Extension Specialist at NC State University and at Michigan State University. She also taught in the School of Public Health, University of Michigan. Before earning her Ph.D., Dr. Fraser worked as an Environmental Health Specialist for six years in the State of Michigan.
Her Extension activities center around the development and evaluation of food safety programs targeting consumers and the retail/foodservice industry. She also teaches three undergraduate courses in the Nutrition/Dietetics programs, one graduate course, and mentors a Creative Inquiry team. She has secured over $5 million in competitive grant dollars to support her Extension activities.
