Norovirus has again earned its nickname of “the cruise ship virus.” The Dawn Princess, of Princess Cruises, has just experienced an outbreak of Norovirus. According to the CDC, 134 people experienced illness with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea, including both passengers and some crew members. The crew has followed procedures to sanitize the ship and officials from the CDC Vessel Sanitation Program further investigated the situation when the ship docked in Alaska last week. Princess Cruises experienced several other outbreaks of Norovirus on its ships earlier this year.
