When the dust of feverish photo-taking settled, almost a dozen people snapped over 240 selfies with our NoroCORE team. The top three winners (bottom photo) had each captured at least 40 of our norovirus-festooned members in their photos, which was an impressive feat! Thank you for your enthusiasm, and we hope you enjoy your prizes!
We are very appreciative of the amazing amount of support we had from our NoroCORE collaborators and stakeholders. We were pleasantly surprised when over 50 people accepted a norovirus tie or scarf and proceeded to wear them proudly around the conference. We couldn’t have done the contest without their help, particularly their willingness to pose with strangers for pictures!
Best of all, we received great feedback from the people playing the game, the people in the game, and from other attendees. As a rising tide lifts all boats, everyone seemed to enjoy the #findnorocore contest’s fun, novelty, and ability to spark conversations. We heard from several of our researchers that they got to talk about their work with people they might otherwise have not met, all stemming from simple requests for photos!
In addition to the contest, 90 mini norovirus plushies found new homes, 20 lbs of M&M’s were gobbled, a couple hundred paper models were handed out, and scores of squishy toilets brought giggles and smiles.
Again, a big thanks to everyone who participated, and stay tuned to see what we come up with for IAFP 2015!
